Aerostat Systems Market Segment Forecasts up to 2020, Research Reports- TransparencyMarketResearch

Aerostat systems market
Transparency Market Research Reports incorporated a definite business overview and investigation inclines on "Aerostat Systems Market". This report likewise incorporates more illumination about fundamental review of the business including definitions, requisitions and worldwide business sector industry structure.
Aerostat, a large envelope of lightweight polyurethane-coated tedlar fabric filled with non-flammable helium, can rise up to an altitude of 4600m while being tethered by a single cable. The aerostat consists of four major components namely, hull, airborne power generator, windscreen and radar platform, rigging and tether. The upper chamber of the hull is filled with helium which provides the aerostat with its lifting capability and the lower chamber is a pressurized air compartment. Such aerostats are launched from a large launch pad either with a mooring fixed system containing a large winch with up to 7600m of tether cable or with a mobile system.
An Aerostat system comprises of three major components such aerostat platform, sensors and operational centers which altogether enable an aerostat to rise, navigate, collect and assess information, and communicate with the commanding base. The aerostat is an aerodynamically shaped unmanned blimp which is connected to ground station by a single tether which is used for power supply and information relay. A single or a combination of electronic systems, depending on their sensing capabilities, can be mounted on the aerostat for several applications such as surveillance, observation and communication. The command and operation center builds up the entire picture using information collected from the sensors and handles reaction of the aerostat. Data processing and integration tasks are needed to be performed at the operation center to transform the collected information into meaningful pictures and scenarios.
Military applications such as surveillance, reconnaissance, force protection, border security and intelligence gathering can be performed with an aerostat to avoid any human casualties. Since 1980, U.S. Defense Department has operated a network of aerostats to counter illegal drug trafficking on the U.S.-Mexico border. A specific need for aerostats was realized by the U.S. army in Iraq when the enemy fighters, with an intention of launching mortar attacks and planting explosives, had sneaked undetected towards U.S. bases at night. Ever since, several aerostats from various manufacturers such as Aeros, Lockheed Martin, DRNE etc. have been deployed by the U.S. armed forces for protection against such attacks.
Aerostat have also found civilian applications due to its benefits such as ease to transport, operate and maintain, stand alone system, small logistic footprint and affordability. Operations such as communication relays, incident awareness and assessment, situational awareness, disaster response, monitoring air quality, atmospheric conditions and research can be efficiently and accurately performed by an aerostat. Use of the largest aerostat for the promotion of 2010 Commonwealth Games held in New Delhi India and other uses of aerostats during Olympics and Indian Premier League has opened a completely new market segment for aerostats.
Depending on the mission specific requirements and parameters such as wind speed, altitude, operating temperatures etc. manufacturers produce a variety of aerostats. Aeros (U.S.), a key manufacturer of aerostats, has a wide product range comprising of aeros 3200 for specialized applications, 21M for transportable tethered systems, 1170 for quick deployment and Sky Cobra for military surveillance missions. Augur RosAero Systems (Russia) is well known with its product line of aerostats including Aerolift, Irbis, Lynx, Gepard, Tiger and Puma. Drone Aviation Holding Corp. (DRNE) has designed compact and rapidly deployable aerostats which are capable of providing critical surveillance and communication solutions to commercial customers and government. The DB and FB series of aerostat systems, used for semi-permanent installations, which can be customized according to the specific needs of the customer, are manufactured by Vigilance. Other major players dominating the global aerostat market are TCOM and L.P. from Columbia, ILC Dover and Lockheed Martin from U.S. and R.T. from Israel.
